Exams and written papers

BA Program

The BA program is cumulative; different types of evaluation and assessment are included in each semester’s course program. All BA lectures and seminars are assessed on a scale of 1-6.

For seminars, attendance is mandatory and the student’s final grade is based on active participation, an oral presentation, and a final written paper of 10-12 pages (see here for the guidelines for written work).

The BA Major culminates with a final written paper (in Linguistics or Literature) and an oral examination (in the other subject).

MA Program

The MA program is cumulative; different types of evaluation and assessment are included in each semester’s program. All MA lectures and seminars are assessed on a scale of 1-6.

For seminars, attendance is mandatory and the student’s final grade is based on active participation, an oral presentation, and a final written paper of 15-20 pages (see here for the guidelines for written work).

The MA Major culminates with a final written paper of about 80-100 pages (in Linguistics or Literature).
